Striker Tudgay, 29, who scored three goals in 11 appearances for the Tykes following his arrival on loan in early November, sustained the injury in a second-half collision with Blackburn goalkeeper Jake Kean and left the field on a stretcher.

The former Sheffield Wednesday forward was due to return to the City Ground on Thursday (January 3) in any case.
