The winger joined the Premier League champions from Swansea in a £6.2million deal on transfer deadline day and has been restricted to just three appearances under Roberto Mancini this season.

His last outing came in the Capital One Cup exit at the hands of Aston Villa at the end of September, but the former Chelsea man accepts he will have to be patient with his new employers.

The 23-year-old had nothing but praise for manager Mancini, who has come under scrutiny this season with City yet to produce the displays that typified their title success last term.

Sinclair told Sky Sports News: "He is a good manager to work with, he puts a lot of demands on the players to make sure you go out there and get a result.

"That is what you want from a manager, to put those demands on you and that pressure. He wants us to be the best that we can be.

"When you come to a big club there are going to be times when you are not playing. I knew that and when I do get my chance I've got to give it my all and make sure I stay in the team.

"I'm still young and I want to be a part of a great club. I am learning every day, every training session and every game.

"It was great when I was back at Swansea and playing week in, week out and as a player that is what you want to do.

"But at the same time you want to win trophies and play in the Champions League. That is the main thing with me and that is why I left.

"All I can do is knuckle down, get my head down and make sure I keep going to get my chance."
