Clough hopeful on trio

Derby manager Nigel Clough hopes the injured trio of Jamie Ward, Frank Fielding and Gareth Roberts will be available to face Blackburn after the international break.

Frank Fielding: Groin injury

Ward has been suffering with a hamstring problem, which has kept the striker out of County's previous two matches, while Roberts has also been nursing a similar injury.

Goalkeeper Fielding joined the pair on the sidelines for the goalless draw with Brighton last time out with a groin injury.

"We'll know more at the start of next week but we'd hope to have one or two, if not all three, of them back for Blackburn - but at the moment that's guesswork more than anything," Clough told the club's official website.

"We hope to have them back, but it obviously depends how their rehabilitation work goes with the medical team."

Clough's options could be further boosted for the October 20 fixture by the return of Will Hughes. The 17-year-old midfielder limped off against Brighton with a knee injury but the Rams manager is confident the problem was not serious.
