Lansbury made his first appearance for the club as a half-time substitute in the 2-1 npower Championship defeat at Leeds on Saturday.
The England Under-21 midfielder, who moved to the City Ground from Arsenal at the end of August in a deal reported to be worth £1million, has been recovering from an ankle injury he sustained during pre-season.
"He was on the bench [at Leeds] because he is not quite fully fit," said O'Driscoll. "But he had been showing some good touches in training, which is why we had him in the squad."
Meanwhile, on-loan Chelsea defender Sam Hutchinson could resume training this week following a recent knee problem.
O'Driscoll added: "Sam has had an injection in his knee. Hopefully we can get him back in training this week as well."
