The left-back fell akwardly during the Addicks' Championship defeat at home to Crystal Palace last Friday and may require surgery.
"Rhoys has suffered two fractured metatarsals on his right foot," said Charlton physio Erol Umut.
"We will monitor him in the ensuing days to decide whether he needs an operation. Based on the injury, I would estimate he could be out for around two months."
Wiggins played the most minutes for Charlton last season as they clinched promotion from League One, having moved from Bournemouth in July 2011.
The Wales Under-21 international featured in every minute of the 45 League One games he contested last season, missing the penultimate game at Preston North End when he was rested.
