The Welsh centre-back struggled to establish himself at the Britannia Stadium since joining the club from Sunderland in 2009.
He spent spells on loan in the Championship with West Ham and Ipswich but Stoke boss Tony Pulis is ready to sanction a permanent move.
Speaking to Forest's official website, O'Driscoll revealed he was keen to bring in several new faces but denied any approach for Tottenham's Jermaine Jenas - tipped to be the first big-name arrival following the club's takeover.
"Danny Collins is in talks," O'Driscoll said.
