The 31-year-old made the move across West London in January on a two year contract lured by the promise that his new side would build in the Premier League.
QPR have been one of the most active clubs in pre-season signing Ryan Nelsen, Andrew Johnson, Robert Green and Samba Diakite with Manchester United winger Fabio da Silva joining on loan.
Zamora says he is confident his move was the correct one as the club have a long term plan to establish itself in the top flight.
"That's certainly how it was sold to me," Zamora said.
"It was a case of getting some more players in, consolidate ourselves in the Premier League and then kick on this season.
"We have added some good players to the squad this summer and my understanding is we are looking to add one or two more as well.
"I am sure the calibre of those players will be brilliant and only strengthen us further."
