Alba and Mata in Olympic squad

Jordi Alba, Juan Mata and Javi Martinez have all been included in the preliminary 22-man Spain squad for the Olympics.

Juan Mata: Named in Spain preliminary squad

Coach Luis Milla named a strong squad for the London Games on Tuesday, with Athletic Bilbao forward Iker Munain and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea also included.

Barcelona trio Martin Montoya, Thiago Alcantara and Cristian Tello also feature, while Chelsea defender Oriol Romeu has been called up as well.

Four players from the list will be dropped by Milla on July 21.

Preliminary squad:

Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Joel Robles, Diego Marino.

Defenders: Mikel San Jose, Alvaro Dominguez, Martin Montoya, Oriol Romeu, Cesar Azpilicueta, Inigo Martinez, Alberto Botia, Jordi Alba.

Midfielders: Javi Martinez, Ander Herrera, Koke, Thiago Alcantara, Juan Mata, Isco.

Forwards: Iker Munain, Adrian Lopez, Cristian Tello, Rodrigo, Alvaro Vazquez.
