The 38-year-old, who has had spells at Slavia Prague and Tottenham, has made 87 appearances since joining the Rs in May 2008.
And despite the Czech being limited to just a handful of starts in recent seasons, Cerny is relishing the prospect of another season in the top flight.
Cerny said: "I'm pleased. At my age, if I'm offered a one-year deal, that's perfect for me. It's fantastic to still be involved with the Premier League.
"For goalkeepers, it's a little bit different to outfield players - age doesn't come into it as much.
"My experience is probably why I'm still here. I've got experience and I always give 100% when I train. Hopefully that rubs off on the younger players.
"Mark Hughes and his staff have been really professional since they joined the club and I've really enjoyed the last few months under them.
"Next season will definitely be different to last, as I know the quality and consistency of our play could be so much higher.
"We will try to finish as high as possible. Next season will be a big one, not just for me, but for everyone involved with QPR."
