The 19-year-old bagged five goals in five games for the Blue Square Bet Premier side, coming after he found the net 12 times on loan at Wealdstone earlier this season.
Assombalonga, in his first full campaign as a professional, will now train with Sean Dyche's first-team squad at the club's London Colney training ground.
Dyche told Watford's official website: "We've deemed it fit for Britt to be back involved here now and to continue his development within our club.
"He's had some great external influences over the past few months, a taste of what it means to be playing competitively in senior football on a regular basis.
"We cannot control every last detail of what happens with our players when they're out on loan but we do our research thoroughly and we're certain our players are at clubs where they're in good hands. That's definitely the case where Britt's concerned. Now let's see what he can do back at Watford."
