Leeds United defender Tom Lees has been rewarded for breaking into the first team this season with a new contract until 2015.

Lees: Delighted to sign a new deal

Lees has spent the past two seasons on loan at Accrington Stanley and Bury, and was handed a new deal by Leeds in December last year.

The 20-year-old made his Whites debut against Bradford City in the Carling Cup in August and has made nine appearances in all competitions this term.

He is happy to have secured a long-term extension at Elland Road and is now determined to retain his place in Simon Grayson's plans at the Championship club.

"I'm delighted to be in this situation and I'm delighted to sign a new contract," Lees told the club's official website.

"I'm really chuffed with how things have gone so far. It's been tough, and I've been learning lots, but I've really enjoyed playing regularly and being a part of the first team.

"It's been a step up for me and it's a good challenge. I wouldn't have thought I would be in this position now, but I know my future is here and my aim is to keep improving, keep learning, and keep getting better."
