Colchester United's out-of-favour defender Matt Heath insists he has no plans to leave the club despite a lack of first-team football.
Heath spent a month on-loan at Southend earlier in the season and has failed to secure a starting berth since returning.
Nevertheless, he insists he does not plan for another spell away and says he wants to fight for a starting position.
"At the moment I don't have anything in the pipeline and I want to stay here and fight for my place," he told the Daily Gazette.
"I want to be a Colchester player and be here.
"The manager has come in, the boys are working hard for each other and I want to part of that. I feel I can make an impact here."
