Barnsley have beaten the transfer deadline to complete a deal for Southend winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce.

The deal for the 24-year-old had looked to be off earlier on Friday after the Shrimpers rejected a second offer for the former Charlton trainee.

But the Championship side finally managed to get their man with just an hour left before the transfer window closed, Campbell-Ryce penning a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
