Walsall player-manager Paul Merson has no fresh injury worries ahead of the Saddlers' make-or-break clash with Rotherham.

Merson's men currently lie third-bottom of Division One and two points adrift of Gillingham, meaning they must secure victory over the Millers while hoping Stoke, who entertain the Gills at the Britannia Stadium, can do them a favour.

The Saddlers are expected to be at full strength, the sole fitness concern being goalkeeper Jimmy Walker who is set to continue playing through the discomfort of a groin niggle.

Merson said: "I suppose experience is my biggest credential for being a manager and I believe the most important thing has been to keep the lads' heads up.

"But they've been as good as gold, they know it's between us and Gillingham.

"If we go and win on Sunday it makes Gillingham have to get a result and I wouldn't like to be going to Stoke."

Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore should be able to welcome back striker Martin Butler.

Butler has been struggling with a dead leg and did not train on Thursday, but the Millers boss is confident his top-scorer will return.

Youngster Will Hoskins could partner Butler in attack, although he has a slight thigh strain and might start on the bench.

"I'm delighted we are safe now, and we didn't need help from anyone else to do it," said Moore.

"I do have sympathy for Walsall, but they've got to come at us and have a go because they have to win, and we might get chances because of that.

"If it was a nothing game then I would have played a few kids, but I have to be fair to Gillingham [Walsall's rivals to stay up] and our 3,000 fans who will be going to the game."
