Walsall goalkeeper James Walker will explore all his options before committing to a new deal with the Saddlers.
The 30-year-old was ever-present for the Saddlers and player-manager Paul Merson has made it clear that he wants Walker to remain between the sticks at the Bescot Stadium.
"I've spoken to Walsall and they have said they want to keep me," Walker told the Express & Star.
"If I was still there next season that wouldn't bother me at all but at the moment I'm keeping my options open.
"Obviously I want to play at the highest level possible, and that would be the First Division or the Premiership.
"I have loved my time at Walsall but I now have to make the right move for my career and for my family."
