On-loan Courtney Pitt has returned to Portsmouth after a low-key one-month loan spell with Coventry.

Pitt had been restricted to just one start for Coventry, in the 1-0 defeat at Bradford, while the 22-year-old also featured as a substitute in the 2-1 FA Cup third-round victory over Peterborough.

Manager Eric Black said: "Unfortunately for Courtney he didn't get the opportunity he was looking for here.

"I thought he did reasonably well up at Bradford but with us changing the shape a wee bit, it meant we had to put certain individuals on the bench and and he just dropped out of the squad.

"We're delighted he took the time to come up but we won't be extending his loan."
