Wolves manager Mick McCarthy expects a lot more drama to unfold before the end of the season as they prepare for their clash at Bristol City on Saturday night.
The Molineux club saw their lead at the top of the Coca-Cola Championship cut to four points last weekend and they could be just one point ahead of Reading by the time they kick off at Ashton Gate at 5.20pm if the Royals win at Swansea.
Wolves have taken just one point from their last three league games and, after tonight's clash, their next Championship game sees them travel to Reading.
However, McCarthy has consistently shown a calm front and admits he expects a lot of changes between now and the end of the campaign.
The former Republic of Ireland boss told the club's official website, www.wolves.co.uk: "I never thought for a minute we would have a seven-point gap all the way through.
"That we'd just go through to the finish, be seven points clear with two games to go and it's all happy days.
"You hope it might be like that - everyone does - but I know it's going to be a scrap to the very last minute of the season.
"There might be pressure on when the lead gets cut but the pressure is also on the others to catch us.
"There are still 19 games left and an awful lot of points to play for."
Opposite number Gary Johnson insists his side are still fighting to get into the play-offs despite being 10 points off the top six before today's 3pm kick-offs.
The Robins have failed to match their form of last season when they reached the play-off final only to be beaten by Hull but they have won their last two league games before going out of the FA Cup to Portsmouth.
Johnson told the club's official website, www.bcfc.co.uk: "All three teams at the top have amassed a good deal of points and it will take something for one of the other 21 teams to overtake them now.
"However, the play-off picture is still very much open now and that's something we're still certainly fighting for.
"Our form in the league is good at the moment and we want that to continue."
