Phil Bardsley has revealed the chance to work under Bryan Robson inspired him to move to Sheffield United on loan.
Bardsley, 22, completed a three-month switch to Bramall Lane from Manchester United on Wednesday and claimed the chance to work with the Old Trafford legend was too good to turn down as he aims to gain more first-team experience.
"Firstly, I have moved down here for footballing reasons and Bryan Robson has given me the opportunity to come down here, play some games and hopefully improve the side," Bardsley told the club's official website.
"He (Robson) is a fantastic character and a fantastic man and I'm eagerly anticipating working under him.
"At my age now, I need to be playing regular first-team football and I've had some experience with Rangers and Villa and a couple of months with Burnley which stood me in good stead, and I'm looking forward to progressing here too."
