Derby manager Paul Jewell has confirmed that midfielder Robbie Savage is free to leave on loan after losing his place at Pride Park.
The 33-year-old former Wales international has not featured in the Rams' last five games after losing his place following the 1-0 home defeat by Southampton on August 23.
"Robbie's agent rang me and asked would we consider loaning him out, and I said yes," Jewell told the Evening Telegraph.
"He is not in the team. He wants to play football and he is one of the players that will be available for loan."
Savage's wages could prove a stumbling block in any possible move, but Jewell revealed Derby would be willing to assist with his pay should any interest in the player arise.
"Has there been any interest? The conversation only took place on Monday. I think the first thing people will think about is Robbie's wages but obviously we are quite happy to help things happen if that is what Robbie wants and it benefits both sides," Jewell said.
Savage signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Derby on January 9 following a £1.5million transfer from Blackburn.
