Grimsby have revealed proposals for a new stadium have hit a new snag.
Planning permission is in jeopardy after the landowner at the Great Coates site refused to sign an agreement allowing the club permission to begin early developments.
Consequently, North East Lincolnshire Council will be recommending the application be refused when a planning committee is called on Friday.
Chairman Peter Furneaux told the club's official website: "We are clearly disappointed to hear the Council is considering refusal of the planning application but we are determined to leave no stone unturned in our efforts to
bring this project to fruition.
"The new stadium is vital to the future of the club and we are looking to find a way forward. We recognise that, at the moment, there is not a viable scheme in place but we are confident that given time we will be able to deliver
the new stadium."
