Leicester midfielder Alan Rogers is in boss Micky Adams' plans for the clash with lowly Grimsby after recovering from a hamstring problem.
Matt Jones (ankle) is out, though, and striker Brian Deane continues to nurse a troublesome hamstring, while suspension rules out Billy McKinlay and Paul Dickov - although the latter is recovering from a hernia operation.
Grimsby player-boss Paul Groves is confident captain John McDermott (hamstring) and midfielder Richard Hughes (ankle) will be available.
Striker Michael Boulding, who is back to fitness after a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury, has an outside chance of playing while new loan signing Michael Keane is expected to make his debut in midfield - but Stacy Coldicott (broken leg) and Darren Barnard (shoulder) remain out of action.
