Crewe manager Dario Gradi has named new signing Neil Cox as his captain for next season.
The 34-year-old has joined the Alex on a two-year deal after being released by Cardiff and will replace Kenny Lunt, who has moved on to Sheffield Wednesday.
Gradi sees the former Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Bolton and Watford man as an ideal replacement.
"Neil is very well thought of wherever he has been," he said.
"He will be our captain now that Kenny has gone. He wouldn't have been if (Lunt) had stayed but he will bring some character to the team."
