Mark McGhee is in no doubt where the bulk of the blame for Brighton's relegation from the Coca-Cola Championship lies - their ill-suited surroundings at Withdean.
The Seagulls, whose home form kept them up last season, failed to turn the 7,000-capacity athletics stadium into a fortress this time round and performed better on the bigger stage - grabbing a memorable win at arch-rivals Crystal Palace and keeping their survival hopes briefly alive with victory at Ipswich last weekend.
"It's a dump that we have to play in, it's a depressing place," said manager McGhee.
"You only have to look at our performance at Ipswich, on a decent pitch with 23,000 people creating an atmosphere. It's not our fans' fault, but they can't get up for it here."
Brighton have been condemned to at least three more seasons at Withdean after Lewes district council appealed against the decision to allow a new stadium to be built in the Falmer area of the city.
