STARS' BID TO SAVE BRADFORD

Bradford's survival cause was given a boost when nearly 10,000 fans turned up to see a fund-raising match at Valley Parade.

City need to raise enough money by June 9 to convince the Football League they will be able to fulfil their fixtures in the Second Division next season.

The match, played in torrential rain, saw a team led by Ian Ormondroyd overcome a side managed by Bobby Davison 7-6, with former player John Hendrie scoring a hat-trick.
