Dean Windass could still remain a Bradford City player despite being offered a two-year contract by Darlington manager Dave Hodgson.
The Quakers boss is hoping to give the veteran forward the opportunity to take his first steps into management, but agent John Hendrie insists it is not a done deal.
"Nothing has been agreed with Darlington and Dean wants to wait and see what happens with Bradford first," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
"The club is in a very difficult position but Dean does not want to leave if there is any chance of things improving soon."
The Valley Parade side suffered a setback this week with Bradford & Bingley withdrawing their sponsorship of the stadium, and the club will stay in administration as they seek further investment to safeguard their immediate future.
