Vaduz 1 Livingston 1

Livingston still have some hard work to do if they are to reach the first round of the UEFA Cup after they were held to a draw by Liechtenstein minnows Vaduz.

After squandering a number of chances in the first half, the Scottish side finally broke the deadlock six minutes after the restart through Oscar Rubio.

Livingston were award a free-kick on the edge of the area, and Gary Bollan's shot was spilled by Vaduz goalkeeper Romuald Peiser into the path of Rubio who tapped in.

But Vaduz - who play their league football in the Swiss second division due to there being no professional Liechtenstein league - levelled through Frank Burgmeier 10 minutes later.

Burgmeier latched on to a long ball and played a one-two with Vaidotas Slekys before shooting from 10 yards into the bottom left corner.

With an away goal under their belt, Livingston remain favourites to advance but they will want to avoid the kind of scares which almost saw Vaduz awarded a penalty in the first half.

Eugene Dadi had missed two good chances for the Scottish side when Rubio appeared to pull Moreno Merenda's shirt as Vaduz attacked just before the break.

However, Bosnian referee Sinisa Zrnic waved away appeals from the home players.

Livingston almost took the lead as early as the second minute when Barry Wilson saw a header cleared off the line by Martin Stocklasa.

Dadi went close in the 27th minute before drawing a good save from Peiser eight minutes later.

After the two sides traded goals in the second half, Vaduz continued to play above themselves as they continued to ask the West Lothian side questions.

Burgmeier surged past three defenders before unleashing a shot from 10 yards, but Javier Broto saved comfortably.

Slekys also had a good chance in the 66th minute when he attempted to lob Broto, but the keeper got back to make the save.
