An inexperienced Portugal side failed to impress against Estonia in goalkeeper Mart Poom's last game for the hosts before international retirement.
Portugal started the friendly without a number of familiar faces including injured Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo.
Eliseu and Jose Castro made their international debuts as did goalkeeper Beto who was the only one of the newboys to impress on the night.
The Leixoes number one made several crucial saves to spare his side's blushes including a brilliant save to keep out a close-range header from an unmarked Ats Purje in the 15th minute.
Portugal dominated the first half but their profligacy in front of goal cost them as did some good saves from Poom in his 120th and final appearance for his country.
The visitors were even worse in the second half, however, and could easily have lost the match had it not been for Beto.
