With both sides looking to finalise their World Cup squads this clash in Arizona was seen as a key one for a number of players and both sides could take positives and negatives from it.

The US struck first in the 15th minute, with Michael Bradley scoring a back-post volley to put them 1-0 up.

Impressive midfielder Bradley was involved in the second goal too, flicking on a 28th-minute Tony Beltran cross into the path of Chris Wondolowski who did the rest.

It looked as though Jurgen Klinsmann's side could get as many as they wanted at that point but, just four minutes after the break they were pegged back as Rafael Marquez cashed in a free header from a corner.

And Alan Pulido levelled things up midway through the half, tapping in after an initial shot came back off the post.

There was still time for more action as Eddie Johnson looked to have won it for the States late on before looking up to see the offside flag had been raised.
