York gained three vital points in their play-off quest with a nervy 1-0 win over in-form Bury.
The Minstermen made the perfect start to the match and opened the scoring through Keith Lowe on five minutes as he diverted Will Hayhurst's low corner beyond Brian Jenson.
York almost doubled their lead seven minutes later but Bury had Jenson to thank as he produced a fine save to deny Calvin Andrew from distance.
The visitors almost found a way back into the game before half time with Hallam Hope having his effort blocked on the line by John McCombe before later firing wide at the near post.
McCombe almost gave his side a vital two goal-cushion after the break but he blazed over the crossbar from six yards before seeing his close-range finish ruled out for offside.
Bury put the hosts under intense pressure in the closing stages but were unable to find a breakthrough with Daniel Nardiello seeing red for a foul on Ben Davies with 10 minutes to go.
