Inverness manager Terry Butcher was delighted to get Scottish Cup fourth-round opponents Ross County back to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium for a replay a week on Tuesday after a six-goal thriller at Global Energy Stadium.

The Caley Thistle boss watched in horror as his side shipped two late goals after leading 2-1 five minutes from time.

However, a last-ditch leveller from Richie Foran - his second of the tie - ensured the visitors would get a second bite of the cherry.

Butcher said: "It wasn't the same quality as the first game (Inverness won 3-1 when the teams met in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on October 5) but there was still plenty of action and incidents.

"We are just delighted to get them back to our place. I'm really happy with that, considering we lost a goal in added time.

"It was good to go in at half-time in the lead. But they equalised quite quickly in the second half.

"To be fair to Ross County, they really had a go in the second half. They pinned us back and got the ball forward quickly. They dealt with the scraps and the second balls better than us.

"But then we scored and you are thinking with seven or eight minutes to go we can grind this one out. But then, disappointingly, we concede two goals but we had to character to come back and get the equaliser."

He added: "I said to the players afterwards you never know when you're beaten. If you have that resilience and toughness in your team it's going to be a cracking season."

Foran scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time to snatch a 3-3 draw for his team, after Ross had also scored in added time in a thrilling climax.

Billy McKay had put the visitors ahead on the half-hour, only for Rocco Quinn to equalise four minutes into the second half.

Foran put Caley back in front with 16 minutes to go but County were level again when Iain Vigurs netted with four minutes left on the clock.

Richard Brittain put the home side ahead for the first time in the second minute of added time before Foran had the final say.

County boss Derek Adams was disappointed at losing a lead so late in the game.

"It was disappointing to lose a goal in that way," he said. "We have to go there now for the replay and they have a good record in Inverness. They are a good side."

He added: "We didn't do so well in the first half but we created more chances and openings in the second half. Over the piece we probably deserved to go through. We have to go to Inverness now for a replay.

"It was going to be difficult today because they are in buoyant mood having done exceptionally well in their last couple of games."
