Jason Denayer: In Celtic squad for Wednesday match

New signing Jason Denayer goes straight into the Celtic squad for their first Scottish Premiership game of the season against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Wednesday night.

The Parkhead club signed the 19-year-old Belgian defender on a season-long loan from Manchester City on Monday. His arrival came just over 12 hours after Aston Villa's Bulgaria international winger Aleksandar Tonev also moved to Celtic Park on a season's loan but he has a knock and will not be included.

Craig Gordon is set to make his competitive debut in goal following the departure of Fraser Forster to Southampton while skipper Scott Brown is still out with a hamstring injury.

Defender Brian Easton has recovered from an ankle knock to take his place in the St Johnstone squad.

Murray Davidson has recovered from a long-term knee injury and played 45 minutes for the Perth side's development team on Monday.

However, manager Tommy Wright believes it is far too early for the midfielder to be involved at first-team level.
