  • FT: It's all over at Wembley and Manchester City are this year's Capital One Cup winners! Sunderland put up a great fight, taking an early lead through Fabio Borini, but City's class showed in the second half with stunning strikes from Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri before Jesus Navas sealed the win. 3-1.

  • Negredo goes into the book for kicking the ball away in frustration after giving away that free-kick.

  • We are now into a minimum of four minutes added time at the end of this second half as Negredo concedes a foul on Bardsley deep inside the Sunderland half.

  • It was a quick counter attack from City and Toure fed the substitute Navas out on the right where he was storming into the area. The Spaniard didn't think twice before firing into the bottom corner. Game over surely.

  • GOAL! Manchester City wrap things up with an incisive break finished by Jesus Navas slotting past Mannone. The trophy is heading to Manchester! 3-1!

  • CHANCE! Mannone comes forward to take a free-kick just inside the City half and pumps it into the air where Ki gets the flick-on. It finds Fletcher in space at the back post but he's caught in two minds and fails to get his shot away as the ball rolls behind for a goalkick.

  • City do make the change as Negredo replaces Edin Dzeko.

  • Navas' cross is disappointing but Toure keeps the move alive at the back post. Sunderland are defending tight before Nasri draws a free-kick out wide on the right.

  • City are preparing to bring on Alvaro Negredo in the closing stages. Sunderland lose out as Fletcher tried to attack and Pellegrini's side break down the right through Navas who has pace to burn.

  • Zabaleta collects the loose ball on the far side. He cuts inside before unleashing a wayward strike at goal which flies over.

  • Kolarov drives down Colback on the left and City win a throw-in right where they want it. They're not throwing too many men forward in attack now as Toure fizzes a cross through an empty box.

  • Sunderland break forward at pace with plenty of space to attack. Bardsley picks it up and decides to go alone, firing well over the bar from range when in reality, there were better options available to him.

  • Marcos Alonso goes into the book for Sunderland after catching Jesus Navas as he broke at speed.

  • CHANCE! Nasri's corner is towards Kompany at the near-post who attacks it acrobatically. He gets the connection on it but he's under pressure and it just bounces wide. Decent effort.

  • Fernandinho drives City forward before feeding Navas out wide on the right. He gets the better of Alonso as he glides into the area. The Spaniard looks to sit one up towards the back post but it is deflected behind for a corner which Nasri will deliver.

  • A City move breaks down after a strong tackle from Ki. Borini is then flagged at the other end for being too eager as he chased the long ball and tangled with Kolarov.

  • City then do the opposite as David Silva is replaced by the more defensively minded Javi Garcia.

  • Sunderland make a change as the excellent Lee Cattermole is replaced by Emanuele Giaccherini in an attacking move.

  • Sunderland come forward down the left through Alonso and he weights a ball towards the far post where Gardner is arriving. He can't quite get the ball under control but he was offside anyway and City have a free-kick.

  • City are operating quite a high defensive line and they spring the offside trap as Bardsley fed Gardner, only for the linesman to raise his flag.
