Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo (shoulder) is back in contention for Wednesday's Barclays Premier League trip to Tottenham.

Playmaker David Silva is also available after being rested last weekend as a precaution because of a minor hamstring issue.

Midfielders James Milner (groin) and Javi Garcia are ruled out but not expected to be sidelined long, while Samir Nasri (knee) remains a long-term casualty.

Andros Townsend and Erik Lamela will miss Tottenham's Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

Head coach Tim Sherwood said neither midfielder is ready to return, but he admitted he expects England star Townsend to be a week away from full fitness after hamstring trouble.

Jan Vertonghen, Younes Kaboul and Sandro are back in training but remain doubts.
