Bordeaux boss Francis Gillot admits the state of Nice's Allianz Riviera pitch is a cause for concern ahead of their Ligue 1 clash on Sunday.

Nice have a formidable record since moving into their new stadium this season, with four wins and a draw from their opening five matches.

Gillot believes Les Aiglons will provide a stern encounter but is worried that the pitch could affect his players.

"We will face a team that has a lot of success in his new stadium," Gillot told the club's official website.

"I saw images of matches of the Allianz Riviera. This is a bad ground and it is not going to help in the long term."

Les Girondins will be without Mali striker Cheick Diabate, while compatriot Abdou Traore and forward David Bellion, both of whom used to play for Nice, are missing through injury.

Bordeaux can approach the encounter with confidence as they are undefeated in four matches and will be searching for their third successive win in all competitions.

Nice are five places better off in 10th although they will be looking to avoid back-to-back defeats after a 1-0 loss at Bastia last time out.

"We expect a tough game, especially as Nice lost to Bastia. Generally, when they lose, they put the necessary ingredients to win the next game. It will be difficult, as usual," added Gillot.

Defender Romain Genevois and forward duo Neal Maupay and Xavier Pentecote will be unavailable for Claude Puel's men, while Mali midfielder Mahamane Traore is suspended following his sending off in the defeat to Bastia.

Puel was frustrated by the setback - as they missed the chance to move up to fourth in the standings - and admits he will be looking for improvement against Bordeaux.

"It's a shame because given the face of the game, there was room to do much better," he said.
