  • That's all from me for this evening. Thanks for following the live clockwatch - join us again soon.

  • United move on to another big game on Sunday - a trip to face Liverpool, who have won both of their opening Premier League fixtures 1-0. As for Chelsea, they go to Prague to take on Bayern Munich for the UEFA Super Cup on Friday. Their next league game isn't until September 14th, when they're away to Everton.

  • So Wayne Rooney turned in an all-action display for Manchester United, but Chelsea defended resolutely and the game ended goalless. The Blues move a point clear of Liverpool at the top of the early table having played three games, while United rise to fourth.

  • Full-time: Manchester United 0 Chelsea 0.

  • A period of worry from the set-piece, but Chelsea eventually clear.

  • Final Chelsea change - Azpilicueta ON, Hazard OFF.

  • United break and Young wins a corner off Cole. Last chance...

  • Into three minutes of added-on time.

  • A glimpse of goal for United. Van Persie slams a volley into the body of Mikel and appeals for a penalty, but Atkinson isn't moved.

  • A second Chelsea change - Mikel ON, Schurrle OFF.

  • Tempo seems to be dropping now, understandably. Could both teams be settling for a point here?

  • Vidic's elbow catches Evra as both United players leap to challenge Terry. Treatment needed.

  • Ten minutes left - can we find a winner? United are 9/2 with Sky Bet, Chelsea are 13/2.

  • Torres is the second player booked by Atkinson tonight, for a foul on Cleverley.

  • 2nd United change - Giggs ON, Welbeck OFF.

  • Welbeck is presented with a gilt-edged headed chance from the corner, but he miscues it badly.

  • Rooney rips a well-struck 25-yard shot that Cech has to dive to his right to push out for a corner.

  • Chelsea have won their first corner after a slight mix-up between De Gea and Vidic. United struggle to clear the ball until Rooney tackles Ramires - for which he receives a round of applause.

  • Rooney's cross-field pass to Young wide right is a peach, and sets up two deliveries - the first headed back to Young by Terry, but the second causing Chelsea real problems and Cech has to bat the ball away.

  • Evra heads away Lampard's left-wing cross, and then Ashley Cole goes down in the area claiming he's been pulled by Phil Jones. Referee Atkinson says 'no penalty'.
