Borussia Monchengladbach go in search of their first away win of the season in Hamburg this Saturday.

Although the Foals are sitting in fourth place in the Bundesliga, their form on their travels has not made a positive contribution to that position, rather hindering them from being closer to the top three.

Just one point from four trips is the miserable haul they are looking to improve upon, although coach Lucien Favre did not sound too optimistic at a news conference on Thursday.

"Hamburg want European football and without any doubt, they have a good team," he said.

"Since Bert van Marwijk has been in charge, they have been very compact. They have excellent organisation and it's not going to be easy to find gaps.

"We'll give it our best, though, and hopefully we'll get something."

Favre welcomes Martin Stranzl back into his side after the club captain missed the win over Frankfurt last weekend due to suspension.

"Fortunately he's back," said the Swiss coach, who is conversely without the injured Filip Daems, Havard Nordtveit and Roel Brouwers, meaning Julian Korb will keep his place at full-back with Tony Jantschke remaining in the centre.

"That's probably going to be the case," added Favre. "They both did a good job, particularly Julian on his starting debut - he impressed me a lot, both defensively and attacking."

Van Marwijk is not paying any attention to Gladbach's away results, but focusing more on their overall strength.

"I've said plenty of times how hard this game is going to be," he said at a press conference.

"Gladbach are one of the best teams in the league, they are in good form and they have a good squad.

"I'm intrigued to see how we cope with them as it will show us where we stand. What's important is that we try to play our own game, even if that's not going to be easy."
