  • An emotional Ryan Giggs is addressing the crowd. He has called for their continued support as he holds back the tears.

  • Man Utd 3 Hull City 1. United end their home campaign with a welcome win. James Wilson steals the show on an emotional night for the home support at Old Trafford.

  • Desperate defending from Hull as they first block a well-struck strike from Buttner and then a second effort from Kagawa. United have the visitors pegged back inside their own box.

  • Giggs gets the ball up and over the wall. It arches towards the top corner, but Jakupovic can get across to parry behind. Wry smile from the Hull keeper as he knows he is the villain of the piece now.

  • Kagawa looks to take a high ball on his chest. He has Figueroa at his back and is bundled over. Free-kick given. United with a shooting chance 30 yards from goal, dead centre. Giggs over it.

  • Three minutes of stoppage-time to be played.

  • Fellaini crashes into a challenge to win the ball back. Buttner can't force play down the left, but settles for a throw.

  • Januzaj with a long chase down the left. He is caught as the ball crosses the by-line. Meyler left his foot in and could face action from the FA after this game finishes. He knew where Januzaj was and opted to tread on his ankle.

  • Smalling also sets up a nervy finish. Sagbo in behind down the left and volleying across the face of goal. Smalling slides in to try and cut out the cross, but ends up diverting the ball straight at De Gea - either side and it would have been 3-2.

  • That should be it now. No time for Hull to find two more. Van Persie will be delighted to be back among the goals. A good night all round for the hosts.

  • GOAL MAN UTD - VAN PERSIE. Giggs with an assist as the hosts wrap up the points. A threaded pass finds Van Persie, who sees his first shot blocked but pounces on the rebound to drill into the bottom corner right-footed.

  • Hull still probing. With only one goal in this tie, they are still in it. United will feel they should be out of sight, but they aren't. Anything could happen from here.

  • Fellaini getting involved again with Meyler, both men on yellow cards so have to be careful. No sense in getting sent off at this stage of the season.

  • Kagawa beats himself with a turn in midfield. Hull look to spring Sagbo down their left, but a chipped pass aimed in his direction drifts out of play. United got back to De Gea and start again from the back. Januzaj runs them over halfway. Van Persie takes over and drills a shot from the edge of the box straight at Jakupovic.

  • Elmohamady not happy with his manager as he is replaced by Livermore. He appears to be suggesting that he was okay to continue. Not worth taking a risk with a cup final to think about.

  • Elmohamady down again following a chase to the by-line which helped to provide the chance for Meyler. His cross was half-cleared by Smalling and a well-struck shot from the edge of the box was seen very late by De Gea - great stop.

  • Van Persie to Januzaj, and the Dutchman continues his run. The ball is returned his way 12 yards out, but he can't wrap his right foot around the ball and turn a shot on target. End-to-end stuff.

  • Elmohamaday with a testing delivery from deep on the right. Sagbo lurking 10 yards out, but again Smalling is in the right place for United. Meyler then so close to levelling as United can't clear their lines and De Gea is forced into a smart reflex save.

  • A wild clearance from Elmohamady gave the corner away. Giggs, as boss, decides he is going to do everything. He plays the set-piece short. Ball worked to Buttner, who sees his delivery nodded out by a crowd of players at the back post. Fryatt counters.

  • Sagbo touches off to Quinn. United pegged back. Giggs, who else, steps in to break things up and send Fellaini forward. Giggs joins in support and skips past Bruce. His low cross is turned behind.
