  • There goes the final whistle then. Goals from Coutinho and Sterling give Liverpool a win over Indonesia XI. Liverpool dominated throughout, but Indonesia did have a handful of their own chances which the Reds defended well. Coutinho, Sterling and Aspas will be particularly happy with their performances, as well as Ibe whose second half introduction was the perfect tonic for Liverpool's inability to break down a hard-working Indonesia XI. Great game all round and promising signs for Brendan Rodgers.

  • Both sides seem content with their performances here today and so they should. Liverpool would perhaps have wanted more goals, but they've looked great in possession and they have clearly gelled well together. Indonesia worked incredibly hard too and should be proud.

  • GOAL! And again the corner is cleared. Jordon Ibe blasts through the defence with some unbelievable pace, and he has four players to choose from. He passes to Assaidi who helps it onto Sterling to tap home for the second.

  • Liverpool have certainly not won this yet. Indonesia keep coming back and they've won a corner now...

  • But nothing comes of it and Indonesia clear. Liverpool continue to press though.

  • Sterling's pace and footwork draws the foul and a free-kick from the edge of the area will be taken...

  • Jufrianto is replaced by Bustomi as Indonesia go in seatch of a shock equaliser.

  • A stunning ball over the top from Henderson releases Sterling as he and Borini both bare down on goal. Sterling neglects the Italian however and lashes a poweful attempt at goal that swerves just wide. A wasted opportunity.

  • Off comes Kipuw, on comes Yustinus Pae for Indonesia All Stars.

  • Though the pitch and the humid conditions will have played a part here, Liverpool will have wanted more than one goal at this stage. Still, they've looked promising in possession and Coutinho, Aspas and Sterling in particular have been positive notes.

  • Another chance for Liverpool as Ibe gets his head to a Henderson delivery, but once again it loops over.

  • Liverpool have looked much more potent and urgent with the introduction of winger Sterling, and he nearly grabs a goal with a half-volley but it smashes the top of the crossbar.

  • Sinaga replaces Roby for Indonesia XI.

  • Sterling has injected some much needed energy and directness for Liverpool, running straight at the Indonesia defence who struggle to deal with him.

  • Fabio Borini, Martin Skrtel, Jordan Henderson, Andre Wisdom, Raheem Sterling, Oussama Assaidi, Martin Kelly and Jordan Ibe all take the field for Liverpool with 8 changes. Mofu is replaced by Pellu for Indonesia XI.

  • You feel that the crowd wanted more goals in this affair too as they become increasingly louder. Liverpool continue their passing game amidst the noise.

  • Defender Jack Robinson cuts inside and unleashes a decent effort, but the keeper is equal to it. Still 1-0.

  • The corner is cleared to Coutinho who breaks quickly, the swift Brazilian evading defenders and laying off to Aspas. The move slows down though, and results in a wild Coutinho effort.

  • Just as Liverpool start to assert more and more pressure on the underdogs, the Indonesian XI embark on some excellent close-control and passing before Johnson has to intervene to concede the corner.

  • New striker Aspas races through on goal again but the ball bobbles wildly and, just as he takes it round the keeper, the ball bounces before his shot and he blazes it over. More promising at least for Liverpool as the incisive edge they need is on show.
