There is still everything left to lose for Partizan Belgrade, according to their head coach Vladimir Vermezovic, who is relying on a dose of luck to see his side past Inter Milan on Thursday night.

The Serbian outfit are in the unenviable position of needing at least six points from their remaining three games - and a hefty goal swing - to qualify for the last 32 of the Europa League, having claimed their only point so far from a goalless draw against fellow strugglers Neftchi.

Vermezovic's men came within minutes of earning a second point at the San Siro two weeks ago, only for Nerazzurri striker Rodrigo Palacio to seal a 1-0 victory at the death.

Former Yugoslavia international Vermezovic may not be holding out too much hope that Partizan can get revenge on Thursday night, but he still wants his players to treat the encounter as a must-win match.

He told Blic Sport: "The majority of the fans believe that we have nothing to lose, but if we lose on Thursday we lose our last chance to get into the next round, so there is everything to lose.

"We did so well in the first game and now we have great expectations, but we need to show that courage back at home.

"Hopefully luck will be on our side. If we are brave and stay relaxed, we can get a good result.

"We have the right to hope, since this team has shown it should be taken seriously, just like the big European teams.

"We know what we can do. We are hoping to produce some beautiful football in a full stadium, and this team plays better when the fans are behind them."

Ominously for Partizan, Andrea Stramaccioni's Inter are on an a run of nine wins in all competitions, their most recent triumph coming in Turin on Saturday night as Juventus missed the opportunity to go 50 league games unbeaten.

The Nerazzurri can qualify with two games to spare if they avoid defeat in Belgrade and Rubin Kazan manage to beat Neftchi.
