Ruben Rochina may have to settle for a place on the bench at MK Dons in the Capital One Cup as he steps up his recovery from a hamstring tear.

Rovers' Spanish playmaker made his first appearance of the season as a second-half substitute in the 2-1 win against Leicester on Saturday and he was instrumental in setting up Morten Gamst Pedersen's winner.

Pedersen is in line for his second consecutive start alongside Nuno Gomes - who scored the opener on Saturday - with manager Steve Kean praising the efforts of both against the Foxes.

Gomes' claim for a starting spot is likely to hinge on the availability of Colin Kazim-Richards, who remains a doubt with a knee complaint which kept him out of action at the weekend.

Leon Best (knee) is a long-term absentee.

MK Dons' disciplinary woes continue as they are without three players through suspension.

Dean Lewington became the fourth Dons player in as many games to receive his marching orders at the weekend.

Lewington starts his three-match ban, while Alan Smith serves the second game of his suspension.

Antony Kay completes a three-game ban but Stephen Gleeson is back from his suspension and is expected to return to the midfield with Daniel Powell or Luke Chadwick dropping to the bench.

Shaun Williams could make his first start since the Capital One Cup first-round defeat of Cheltenham after he completed 48 minutes at the weekend following his return from an ankle injury.
