Nick Ross (shoulder) and Simon King (ankle) are moving toward a comeback but are not ready for first-team action.

Defender Chris Hogg remains out with a knee injury.

Dundee striker Steven Milne is set to miss out with a stomach muscle injury.

Milne missed last week's draw with Ross County and will be sidelined again while Iain Davidson plays his last game before sitting out their Boxing Day clash with Celtic because of suspension.

Striker Mark Stewart has returned to full training this week and may feature against the Staggies. Dundee remain without Carl Finnigan (knee), Stephen O'Donnell (hamstring), Mark Kerr (knee), Brian Easton (hamstring), Jamie McCluskey (Achilles), and Davide Grassi (knee)
