A late decision will be taken on the Aberdeen loanee Peter Pawlett, who is just back in training after recovering from a hamstring problem, but striker Craig Beattie is out with a thigh injury.
Callum Davidson and Jamie Adam remain on the sidelines with back problems, while striker Steven MacLean is still out after dislocating his elbow.
Kilmarnock could have three players back for the game.
Goalkeeper Cammy Bell, left-back Jeroen Tesselaar and striker Paul Heffernan all returned to action for the under-20s this week following lengthy lay-offs, although they might not be ready to start at McDiarmid Park.
Garry Hay and Danny Racchi remain on the sidelines following knee surgery.
