  • Andy Carroll makes a dream return to the West Ham first team as he scores the winner in a 1-0 victory over Swansea at Upton Park. The on-loan Liverpool striker was making his first start since November following injury and marked the occasion with a fine display and a 77th minute header to settle an otherwise forgettable contest. It is a very welcome win for West Ham, who collect three points for just the third time in two months, and eases a previously worrying slide down the Premier League. Stay with us for all the post-match reaction.

    90 + 4
  • Pogatetz comes on for his West Ham debut and shut up shop.

    90 + 3
  • Nolan gives the ball to Carroll, who is brought down by Chico to win a free-kick and earn the Swansea defender a booking.

    90 + 2
  • It is all hands to the pump for West Ham in defence. They are all having to throw their bodies in the way of Swansea shots. Nolan, though, then carries the ball up field.

    90 +1
  • ADDED TIME: There will be a minimum of four minutes added time before the final whistle.

  • Panic in the West Ham box as shots pile in on goal and a wall of defenders have to block the ball. Carroll makes the final clearance.

  • Corner to West Ham. They are in no rush. Ki beats Vaz Te to the set-piece in the end before Reid slices an attempted cross into the crowd.

  • Free-kick to West Ham in their own half. They take their time before hitting it to Carroll, who again wins the header.

  • Diame is off to be replaced by O'Neil.

  • Carroll has had a very good game, especially as this is his first start since November.

  • West Ham are getting ready to bring on O'Neil. Carroll heads away a Swansea free-kick.

  • West Ham now have a lot of men back on the edge of their own penalty area and this could be a nervy end for the home team. But Michu cannot pick out Ki.

  • Moore has made little impact on the game since coming on. Michu has still had next to no impact.

  • Swansea can have little complaint to find themselves behind. Tremmel has been their best player and they have created very little from an attacking perspective.

  • Swansea now have to raise their game for an equaliser. Ki sends a skidding effort at goal. Jaaskelainen can only palm the ball out but is then back on his feet to stop Davies' follow-up.

  • West Ham's confidence is now booming and Vaz Te almost slides in to make it 2-0. But he just misses the ball and he would have been denied by the offside flag.

  • The corner is perfect for Carroll, who makes a couple of dummy runs to lose Williams, before leaping on the edge of the six-yard box to power a header past Tremmel and inside the far post. Excellent header.

  • GOAL CARROLL (1-0)!!!

  • Corner to West Ham on the left and it is greeted by a loud cheer from the home fans.
