Montenegro will end 2012 two points clear at the top of Group H should they, as expected, emerge victorious from their World Cup qualifier against San Marino in Podgorica on Wednesday night

Branko Brnovic's side trail current leaders England by a point with seven from three games and it would be a surprise if they did not claim the win on Wednesday that will see them leapfrog Roy Hodgson's men.

San Marino have no points and a goal difference of minus 13 after three games and conceded six against Wednesday's hosts in September.

By contrast, Montenegro are unbeaten in six games but Brnovic is focusing solely on the game, telling "This is a great statistic, but let's talk about that after the match.

"I know we're clear favourites against San Marino, but we must prove ourselves on the pitch, not in facts and figures."

A number of first-choice players, including captain Mirko Vucinic and playmaker Stevan Jovetic, are missing through injury and suspension meaning a host of youngsters will be thrown into the fray.

Brnovic added: "I will ask them for their best. If they take our opponent seriously, I am sure we will finish this year in style."

For San Marino, it could be a case of damage limitation as even a point would seem out of their reach given they have yet to score in this year's qualifying campaign.
