Uncapped Hearts captain Christophe Berra has been added to the Scotland squad for next week's friendly international against South Africa.
The 22-year-old central defender has been brought in to act as cover to Russell Anderson, Gary Caldwell, Stephen McManus and Steven Pressley but could win a first cap.
Berra was appointed Hearts captain last week following the departure of former skipper Craig Gordon to Sunderland.
Scotland face the South Africans at Pittodrie on Wednesday, August 22, and boss Alex McLeish has rested several established internationals for the match.
Veteran Rangers centre-back David Weir, 37, is among the players being allowed to miss the game, and Berra will be eager to seize the chance to prove he has a future at Scotland level.
"I am delighted to be called up for my first full cap," he told Hearts official website.
"Hopefully I can show what I have to offer.
"I am looking forward to the experience and meeting the other guys.
"I'd like to thank the coaching staff at Hearts who have really helped me develop as a player in the last 12 months."
Hearts assistant boss Stephen Frail added: "It is great for Christophe and it is a reward for the performances that he put in last season. It is a boost for everyone at Hearts."
