90+2: We don't even get that far. The final whistle blows as Scotland are put out of their misery. The second half was a patchy affair with both managers making a load of changes, but the first half was a superb display of passing and fast movement from the Welsh with the irrepressible Ramsey to the fore. Plenty of positives for Wales, but hard to know what Scotland can take from a desperate performance.

90+2: Cotterill brings Wales forward for what must be the final attack of the game.

90+1: Bale wins an all-Spurs footrace with Hutton, beating his club-mate to the ball and clearing his lines. No prizes for guessing who's got bragging rights when they get back to Spurs Lodge.

90: Into the final minute of the game. To no great surprise, the tannoy announcer confirms Ramsey as man of the match. He was on the pitch less than an hour, but he was simply sensational.

89: The referee continues to be lenient here as a shocking hack from a frustrated Hutton on Cotterill isn't punished beyond a free-kick. Could easily have seen red for that - horrible challenge.

88: Final substitution of the match as Edwards - superb today after opening the scoring with a fine volley - makes way for Cotterill.

87: Wales attack again through Ricketts on the right, but he overruns the ball andit's a goal-kick.

86: Good forward run from McCormack, at least playing with purpose since coming on. He's tackled, but the ball breaks to Steven Fletcher. He decides to cross, which isn't the best option as there's not a single white shirt in the Wales box.

85: The corner's another pretty poor one, and nothing comes of it.

84: Having created nothing for the last 75 minutes, Scotland suddenly create two good chances in a minute. First Riordan cuts in from the left and forces Hennessey into a good block. The ball eventually comes out to Hutton on the right, and his pinpoint cross is headed powerfully goalwards by Kyle who is also denied by Hennessey. Cracking save that, but Scotland do have a corner.

83: Hutton tries to kickstart a Scotland attack down the right but overhits his pass and Wales have the ball back again.

82: Bit aimless this match now. Wales passing the ball around in midfield, but with no real drive or purpose.

80: Another sub-par set-piece from Scotland as the corner fails to beat Edwards at the near post.

80: Another of Wales' star performers today makes way as Ledley is replaced by King.

79: Clever attempt from McCormack here, seeing Hennessey off his line and going for the little chip from 20 yards. Hennessey get back to tip the ball over the bar for a corner.

78: Scotland make their sixth and final change as Riordan replaces Cowie.

77: Williams makes a strong forward run and fires a shot just over the bar after a neat one-two with Earnshaw. Still only one team playing all the football here.

76: Wales holding their lead with great comfort now, but the game has certainly suffered since all the substitutions. Common problem, of course, wit these friendly games, but it would've been nice to see Ramsey, Evans, Church and co given a longer run-out.

75: Some of the 4,000-strong Tartan Army are heading for the exits, but those that remain stir themselves for a rendition of Flower of Scotland.

74: Darren Fletcher's cross from the left finds Steven Fletcher, but he's just got too much to do and can only head the ball wide for a goal-kick. The delivery to the Scotland frontmen simply hasn't been good enough.

73: Good covering from Darren Fletcher, as Earnshaw gets in between the Scotland centre-backs and starts to bear down on goal. But Fletcher is alive to the threat and gets back to nip the ball away from the Wales striker.

72: Caldwell's long clearance is nicely brought down by Kyle, but his clipped throughball doesn't reach Steven Fletcher as Morgan intervenes.

71: Another change for Scotland as Robson replaces Dorrans.

71: No. McCormack takes the free-kick, and smacks it high over the bar and into the stands.

70: Free-kick for Scotland 30 yards from goal. Can they drag themselves back into this game?

69: The raft of substitutions on both sides have inevitably halted the flow of the game here, but it's still Wales enjoying the bulk of the possession as Earnshaw's dinked cross fails to find a red shirt and Scotland clear.

68: Bale tries to jink his way to the byline on the left, but overruns the ball and allows Scotland to clear their lines, temporarily at least.

67: Another missed clearance from Gabbidon - looking understandably rusty early on here - gives Scotland a chance, but when the ball is eventually played into the box, he's the man to head clear. Huge cheers from the crowd for that.

66: Gabbidon is under pressure from Steven Fletcher and makes a hash of his clearance, but Morgan is there to help out and complete the job.

65: More good pass-and-move football from Wales ends with Edwards lashing over the bar from 25 yards. Even without Ramsey, it's still Wales who look the more likely to add to the goal tally.

64: Bale's corner swings viciously in the wind and would've found the back of the net but for Marshall's good positioning. Even so, a front-post runner would've had a simple header - Scotland had no-one on the post.

63: Wales win a corner. McCormack replaces Naismith as Scotland make another change. Always a nightmare trying to keep track of who's actually on the field in the latter stages of these friendlies.

62: Another glum-faced Scotland player departs the scene as McFadden - utterly ineffective today - makes way for Kyle.

62: Hutton's mistake almost lets Vokes in again, but he gets his body back across the striker and wins the free-kick himself.

61: Scotland are trying to make something happen in this second half, but there's much huffing and puffing and precious little quality.

60: Another huge ovation from the Wales fans, this time for an incoming player. Gabbidon returns from his injury problems to replace Nyatanga.

59: Poor from Darren Fletcher. He floats the ball tamely into the penalty area, giving Hennessey the easiest of catches.

59: Barreling forward run from Hutton takes him into a crowd of Wales defenders. He can't get through, but does win himself a free-kick.

58: Hutton plays a long hopeful ball for Naismith, but it rolls harmlessly through to Hennessey.

57: A standing ovation at the Cardiff City Stadium as Ramsey departs to be replaced by Allen. Glorious performance from the Arsenal midfielder. What a future he has: looked today like he'd been dropped into this game from another dimension. Scary how much better he's been than everyone else on the pitch.

56: Ramsey slips a beautiful ball through for Earnshaw, but he's flagged offside. Marginal, that.

56: More slipshod defending from Scotland almost lets Vokes in again, but this time McManus makes a last-gasp challenge to deny the Wales striker.

55: Steven Fletcher replaces Miller, who looks a forlorn figure as he trudges off after another difficult day.

55: Too easy as Morgan heads the corner clear under no pressure.

54: McFadden's strike cannons into the wall and away for a corner.

54: Chance for Scotland with a free-kick on the edge of the Wales box.

53: Ramsey bursts into the area from the left and bends the ball right-footed towards the far post. Earnshaw gets on the ball, but is flagged offside. Don't think it was a pass from Ramsey - sure he was going for goal.

52: Another lovely touch from Ramsey sets Ricketts away down the right, but this time Scotland have numbers back to snuff out the threat.

51: Scotland get a couple of crosses in from the left, but Bale heads clear.

50: More lovely skill from Ramsey in midfield gets him away from his man, but this time the move breaks down.

49: Rare chance for Scotland to put the ball into the Wales box. But the delivery is poor and Bale heads clear easily.

48: The corner comes to nothing, but it's more of the same in the early minutes of the second half as Wales continue to dominate proceedings.

48: Bale goes for goal from the free-kick, but the ball deflects off the wall for a corner.

47: More trouble for Scotland. Vokes is through, and Marshall comes flying out of his area to try and block. Vokes tries to lift the ball over the advancing keeper, who blocks with his hand. In a competitive game a certain red card: in a friendly, he escapes with a caution.

46: Wales start the second half as they ended the first: on the attack with the full-backs bombing forward. It's Bale this time, and his teasing cross needs to be dealt with.

46: Scotland get the second half under way.

HT: A couple of changes for Wales with front two Evans and Church replaced by Earnshaw and Vokes. Evans and Church have certainly done their bit - the subs no doubt hope that Ramsey continues to run the show and create yet more chances for the home side.

Betting: Rampant Wales are now just 1/40 with Sky Bet to go on and complete the victory here, with 4-0 and 5-0 victories just 9/2 and 10/1 chances. It's 13/5 that there are no further goals. Those who fancy an unlikely Scotland fightback can back the draw at 16s and the visitors at 66s.

45: The half-time whistle blows almost right on the 45 minutes, with Wales once again attacking. Scotland started brightly enough, but once Ramsey decided to take control it was a different story. He's been ably assisted by the likes of Bale, Edwards, Ricketts and Church, but make no mistake: this is the Aaron Ramsey show. Scotland simply have no answer to the 18-year-old.

44: Scott McGiven is not happy. "I don't want to leap on the "get rid of Burley" bandwagon, principally because that would assume that at some point I was never on it, but let's face it the only reasons he is still in the job is because of a victory against Macedonia and the fact that Holland never thrashed us!"

44: Scotland waste the free-kick, the ball overhit horribly straight out of play for a goal-kick.

43: First yellow card of the afternoon goes to Morgan after a cynical block on Naismith on the Scotland left.

42: Sums it up for Scotland. Good ball from Dorrans, spreading the ball to Hutton on the right. He heads the ball to Cowie, who makes a complete mess of the easiest of return passes to the overlapping right-back.

41: A poor backpass from Ricketts has Miller briefly interested, but Hennessey is able to get to the ball first and clear for a throw.

40: Wales are currently ranked 32 places behind Scotland in the official FIFA rankings.

39: Fox fails to keep the ball in play on the left as a rare Scotland attack breaks down.

38: It's all Wales now as Ricketts again finds space to pick out a cross from the right, but this time just overhits his delivery.

37: Could have been four! Ramsey involved again, inevitably, cushioning a header into Evans' path. He turns inside his man before firing a shot on goal that Marshall does well to block. Church tries to get onto the rebound but is bundled to the ground. Could easily have been a penalty, but perhaps the referee has taken sympathy on Scotland.

35: GOAL RAMSEY! 3-0 to Wales, and the star of the show has the goal his performance has thoroughly deserved. Fletcher loses the ball in midfield and Ramsey latches on, skipping past McManus with ease before holding off Fletcher and picking his spot in the bottom corner to make it three.

34: Lovely skill from Ramsey to work himself ayard of space in midfield, but his pass for Church is just overhit by a fraction. Scotland started the brighter, but Ramsey has taken the game by the scruff of the neck.

33: Scotland at sixes and sevens here defensively as another Ramsey cross whistles dangerously between centre-backs and keeper.

32: GOAL CHURCH! Wales double their lead, and it's another lovely goal. Bale finds Ramsey, who slides the ball in perfectly for the run of Ledley. He cuts the ball back for the oncoming Church to turn the ball home from close range.

31: Disappointing from Ramsey, whipping the free-kick straight into Marshall's hands.

30: Lovely run from midfield by Evans, and he's tripped as he sprints through a crowd of white shirts. Promising positoin this for Wales on the left.

29: McFadden's smart first touch takes him into the Wales area, but Morgan uses his strength to hold the Scotland man off and run the ball out of play for a goal-kick.

28: Hennessey punches this time, and Ramsey brings the ball away. Wales break quickly through Edwards, but a ball intended for Church is overhit and easily gathered by Marshall.

28: Good delivery from Dorrans, but once again Nyatanga is once again well placed to head the ball away for another corner.

27: Cracking ball in from Fox, but it's just six inches too high for Naismith's near-post run and Nyatanga hacks the ball behind for a corner.

25: Ricketts is in a tough spot trying to hold the ball up right in the corner, but Naismith helps him out with a needless foul to get the Wales right-back out of trouble.

24: Ramsey having a growing influence on proceedings in midfield here. He links up nicely with goalscorer Edwards, who finds the advancing Bale on the left. Good ball in, but McManus gets just enough on his header to get the ball out of the danger area.

23: Fox lifts the ball into the Wales area, but it's an easy catch for Hennessey.

22: The whole ground stands in agreement as a chant of "Stand up if you hate England" goes round the Cardiff City Stadium.

21: Good keeping from Hennessey this time, coming out smartly to punch the corner clear. Bale completes the clearance.

20: Ricketts makes a good block to send Fletcher's shot behind for a corner.

18: That right-hand side had looked Wales' likeliest route to success, with Ricketts a constant threat.

17: GOAL EDWARDS! Lovely goal from Wales. Ricketts and Ramsey link up beautifully on the right before the Arsenal man cuts the ball back to the penalty spot where Edwards arrives to volley home the opening goal of the game.

16: Great run from Ricketts on the right, getting to the byline and cutting back a fine cross that is headed clear.

15: Good goalkeeping from Marshal, coming out to the edge of his six-yard box to claim the inswinging corner.

14: Wales coming into this more and more now, and they have a corner on the right-hand side.

13: Good cromss from Bale out on the left, but it's headed clear to Ledley who slices well wide from 25 yards.

12: Hutton nicks the ball off Tottenham team-mate Bale and plays the ball to the overlapping Fletcher. But his low cross just evades Miller and the chance is gone.

11: Morgan's long clearance from the back keeps Evans interested, but the ball skids away on the surface and out for a goal-kick.

10: More nice football from Scotland, but it ends with an overhit cross from Dorrans. Wales have a goal-kick.

9: Good start this from the visitors. Passing the ball around with authority in testing condittions.

7: Naismith wins a free-kick for Scotland on the left, but it comes to nothing.

6: Fletcher plays an early ball from midfield intended for Miller, but the striker had to check his run to avoid being trapped offside and the ball sails out of play.5: Another glorious chance for Scotland. Miller gives Ricketts the slip but fires wide from 10 yards. Really should have at least worked the keeper.

4: First clear chance of the match after a flowing right-to-left move from Scotland. Fox whips in a fine cross from the left which evades Miller but finds McFadden, who turns the ball goalwards only to see Hennessey make the block with his feet.

3: Cowie miscues a free-kick, which bounces up in front of Hennessey who fumbles initially before grabbing at the second attempt. Shoot on sight is the message today.

2: An early example there of how today could be a tricky one for keepers.

1: Good start from Wales, with Ricketts getting forward down the right and putting a couple of testing crosses in. Marshall has to be alert to prevent the second of them curling into the top corner after the ball dips and swerves late.

1: Wales get us under way in the swirling wind and rain in Cardiff.

Anthems: The two teams are out on the pitch for the two anthems. Wales in their traditional red shirts, while Scotland are in white.

Comfortable: Kris Livingstone expects Scotland "to win comfortably" this afternoon. "Wales have a very weak team apart from Aaron Ramsay. One player can't win a game."

Team News: Danny Fox makes his Scotland debut after missing the trip to Japan through injury. Don Cowie earned his debut in Yokohama and impressed enough to retain his place in Burley's plans for this game, while James McFadden makes his first appearance since the World Cup qualifier in Norway. David Marshall starts in goal in the absence of first choice goalkeeper Craig Gordon - who is out with a broken arm - while Jamie Langfield is on the bench. Wales line up as expected with no surprises. Ashley Williams is named as skipper for the first time - the 11th captain of Toshack's tenure as national team boss.
