Werder Bremen forward Aaron Hunt admits he is "flattered" by rumoured interest in him on the part of Fabio Capello, but has categorically ruled out representing England in the future.

The 23-year-old has yet to make his senior debut for Germany team and, according to reports in England and Germany, England Under-21 coach Stuart Pearce has been keeping tabs on the youngster.

But Hunt, who has an English mother and German father and is therefore eligible for both nations, today said that he would always choose Germany were he forced to make such a decision.

"I grew up in Germany and learned to play football here," he said,

"I would of course be flattered by any interest from England, but I have not heard anything about it and it wouldn't even be an issue for me.

"I only want to play for Germany and am not going to be tempted (to change my mind) either."

Hunt has impressed with five goals in his last five Bundesliga games for Werder and is strongly tipped to be included in Germany coach Joachim Low's squad for the upcoming friendly internationals against Chile and the Ivory Coast.

He has already been capped by Germany at three age-group levels and Low may be keen on giving him his first senior cap, as he did with Hunt's Bremen team-mate Mesut Ozil earlier this year when Turkey showed an interest.

However, since there are no more official matches on the FIFA footballing calendar between now and the start of the World Cup, Hunt could in theory play games for both nations before choosing one way or another.

Yet his mind has already been made up - even if, as he joked, "part of my family would have liked to see me make a different choice".

"I have already said a few times that I want to play for Germany," he added.
