Position: Goalkeeper Born: 08.01.71 Club: FC Basle
Zuberbuhler will be battling to win the number one shirt back off Jorg Stiel after losing it to the veteran during qualifying for Euro 2004.
Another impressive season with Basle, particularly in the club's UEFA Cup campaign, has boosted the giant goalkeeper's hopes but it appears he will enter the tournament as Kobi Khun's second-choice between the sticks.
The 33-year-old spent a large part of his career at Grasshoppers where he won three league titles and a Swiss Cup.
In 1999, Zuberbuhler spent a short time with Basle before moving to the Bundesliga after he was snapped up by Bayer Leverkusen.
His imposing performances in the Swiss league were not fully replicated in Germany and by the 2001/2002 season, Zuberbuhler had returned to Basle.
The goalkeeper was one of the stars of Basle's season as they charged to a domestic double.
The following year Zuberbuhler was in excellent form as Basle had a splendid run to the second group stage of the Champions League at the expense of Liverpool.
