At 31, Jakobson is an experienced head at the back for Sweden and can always be relied upon to be a calming influence through the side.
Jakobson played in all four matches for Sweden in the 2002 World Cup and has remained a central figure to joint-coaches Tommy Soderberg and Lars Lagerback in the qualifiers for Portugal.
He is currently playing for top Danish side Bondby having moved there following a successful spell with Hansa Rostock in Germany. Before that he played for Helsingborgs.
Jakobsson brings strength to the Swedish team and is also a decent passer of the ball.
He is another Swede who is strong in the air and like fellow defender Michael Svensson will pose a threat at corners.
