Jan Koller and Milan Baros ruthlessly disposed of Denmark with three second-half goals to book the Czech Republic a semi-final tie with Greece.
The opening 45 minutes saw no signs of the flowing football which had steered these two countries through the group stages.
The second half was a different matter, though as Koller rose to power home a Karel Poborsky corner on 49 minutes to put the Czechs ahead.
The goal galvanised them and they went 2-0 up on 63 when Poborsky's defence-splitting pass released Liverpool hitman Baros, who craftily dinked the ball over keeper Thomas Sorensen.
Denmark had no answer and saw their Euro 2004 dream ended minutes later when Nedved's through ball found Baros, who took one touch to control before lashing a left-footed strike into the back of the net for his fifth goal of the tournament.
Goal hero Milan Baros said afterwards: "If someone told me before the tournament that I would have
scored five goals by the end of the quarter-finals I wouldn't have believed
them.
"I'm very happy, of course, but the most important thing is that we are in
the semi-final to face Greece."
